About My Work
I am a product designer with a passion for creating simple and enjoyable experiences that help brighten up the user's day.
I believe a solid UX focus on deliverables can guide a company-wide design culture. I work to evangelize this culture while adding simplicity, and efficiency to the users' experiences. I thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires a lot of quick thinking, problem-solving, and the execution of smart, useful user-centric design.
In my experience, I have worked with small companies, large corporations, and start-ups. I’ve worked with and through all levels of managers, project directors, stakeholders, and developers throughout entire product life cycles.
Additionally, I’ve worked remotely for the past 10+ years, which has allowed me to develop a very strong communication and organizational skillset.
Having over two decades of experience as a designer, leader, and mentor, my broad set of skills makes me a valuable member of any team. I have designed and built complete design systems, wireframe kits, and guidelines that have been deployed and used by company-wide design and marketing teams. I have also designed countless logos, icons, flyers, posters, newsletters, and other business collateral for various clients in my career.
I am always availabe to help a fellow colleague, be it a designer or otherwise. I often take the time to walk through and discuss their issues until we find a solution. With CDK Global, I started a video series called, "Tip Jar Tuts". I would record 2-minute videos on how to work smarter...not harder, use shortcuts, tips an tricks, and how to use Figma plugins to your advantage. I enjoyed putting those tutorials together.
I am a designer, a leader, and a mentor. I keep current with the latest tools and technologies and I can provide the leadership, experience, and knowledge needed to grow a strong design team and design culture.
About Me
Beyond design, my passions are few, but very dear to me. My family is first. My wife of 30+ years is my number one. We have two very smart and kind boys. Both have grown into successful adults. Our oldest is a Senior Analyst and our youngest is a lawyer.
My coffee has become a big passion in my every day. I have a café station in my kitchen and a smaller one in my home office.
I also have a deep love for music. I started playing the drums at 7 years old. I can play the piano, as well, and I pretend I know how to play guitar. Being in a rock band and performing live in front of an audience is extremely rewarding, as it allows me to channel my creativity and self-expression through the energy and excitement of the crowd. It is a fulfilling outlet for my artistic energy.
My other expensive hobby is wine. I have always had a passion for wine, both for its taste and the rich history and culture that surrounds it. Over the years, I have curated a collection of various wines from different regions and varietals, most notably, a small collection of 1955-1967 First Growth Bordeaux, and it has become a quest of mine to learn about the unique characteristics and stories behind each bottle. I love exploring new wineries and trying different types of wine. I find there is always something new to discover in the world of wine, and I am constantly amazed by the diverse and complex flavors and aromas that each bottle has to offer.

All of my hobbies and passions are a huge part of my life. They each bring people together. That is a gift in itself.
